Want to forge real relationships with real men and make a real difference in this world?
As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another”
Proverbs 27:17
“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
Matthew 18:20
Iron Man Groups are two or three men who make a promise to one another to meet regularly for fellowship, encouragement and accountability.  Why the small group size?  First, the smaller the group the easier it is to find a convenient time to meet regularly.  Second, a smaller group has a safer, more comfortable feel that prompts deeper, more meaningful exchanges.  Men can and will share deeply with one another—revealing their true selves—when they are among trusted friends who do not judge.  Men can be real….and honest….. in Iron Man Groups—connecting in ways they cannot in church on Sunday, or in a bible-study group, or having breakfast with other men of the church on a Saturday morning.
The intimate nature of Iron Man Groups encourages men to be accountable, to encourage, to come along side, to minister and pray for one another, and even admonish one another for the sake of growing spiritually and strengthening our Christian walk.
The goal of Iron Man Groups is to foster connection and participation in the Body of Christ at its most fundamental level.
  • Iron Man Groups form a basic building block of Christian community:  two or three men meeting once or twice a month for relationship, support & accountability.
  • Where and when Iron Man Groups meet is entirely up to the group members.
  • Iron Man Groups have no formal leadership -- just two or three guys in the presence of the Holy Spirit encouraging one another other in their Christian walk.
  • Members of an Iron Man Group do not have to belong to the same church.  In fact, inter-church groups are certainly encouraged for the sake of building relationships across church groups.
  • Members do not have to be believers or be saved.  In fact, Iron Man Groups afford the perfect atmosphere for leading another man to Christ.  Inviting a seeker or a non-believer is absolutely encouraged!
  • The content of an Iron Man meeting is entirely up to the members.  There is no over-arching program, no mandatory format.  Some groups do a bible or book study, others just get together for coffee and conversation.  Some work at having no agenda whatsoever—preferring to remain open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
  • Each Iron Man Group will have a unique lifespan.  Some a few months, others a few years, still others a lifetime.
  • There will be turnover.  People join—and leave—Iron Man Groups for a variety of reasons.  The important thing is to keep relationships growing whatever the group make-up.
